Animals at Le Douvet
Our animals give life on the farm a natural rhythm. After the morning crowing of our rooster, the morning ritual begins in which all the animals are fed, walked or taken to the pasture. Children are of course allowed to help with this. Brushing the ponies and cuddling the donkeys and goats is also a fixed part of the daily care. The donkeys and dwarf goats play in one pasture and our elderly ponies in the other. Dog Bowie and cat Pepijn, just like our chickens, roam everywhere in between. We live here as much as possible in harmony with nature. We maintain our (vegetable) garden without too many interventions and without pesticides. Weeds still have a right to exist here. A bit according to the motto "if you can't beat them, enjoy them!" Birds and butterflies find a place there and hedgehogs and toads ensure a natural balance.
Around the pony pasture we have created a path with lookout towers to spot birds and discover nature. In the summer we also use this path for treasure hunts, where children have to answer questions from their clogs to eventually find a treasure!
Pets are welcome, on a leash. In consultation, they may also run free on the premises, but always under the explicit responsibility and supervision of their owner.
